With water as the main design theme, its power, beauty and grace is incorporated into the design of each building elements within Songyu Port Redevelopment. Created to promote a memorable tourist/local balance place, the port is defined by streets, squares, boardwalk paths and parks. The ferry terminal District and commercial Destination District form a diverse urban environment that supports ferry services, water recreation, pedestrian and bicycle use, visual and physical access to the water, and a combination of active and passive-use open spaces. Open spaces along the water’s edge form commercial and entertainment, public open space and culture districts.
