Project Description:
‘Urban Canyon’, the design inspiration behind Lishui Center, takes its cue from the mountains of this natural site. By organizing the project into a series of districts connected by an interior arcade and an exterior thoroughfare dotted with plazas and terraces, SBA was able to create an urban destination within the development that caters to a diverse mix of residential, office, hotel, retail, restaurant, and entertainment patrons. The entire complex is located along a major boulevard to give it a primary presence within the city. The five levels of retail extend the full length of the site and create a podium for the hotel, service apartments and offices above. With a unique layout that allows for active street connections as well as natural water and landscape features, residents are afforded active integration with its amenities, while enjoying privacy and dramatic views of the surrounding mountains and river.
