Project Description:
Intended as a symbol of welcome, Shekou Pedestrian Bridge, connecting two shopping centers and spanning the 200 ft wide major city boulevard, is the true gateway of the Shekou city. Based on the idea of an ‘urban accordion’, the design of each major bridge structures is aligned with folded surfaces characters of the musical instruments. These folding planes form a variety types of interior spaces to enhance visitors experience who travel through the lyrical composition of structures.
